I'm planning on dying my hair a dark chocolate brown at the hairdressors, but I'm going to try the tempory wash in wash out version out of a box first just incase I don't like it. only the day after I'm supposed to be going swimming, will it wash out in the pool? I'm told it will only wash out with shampoo? Help :)

There is a potential it could wash out some. I would be more concerned of the chemicals in the pool interacting with the hair dye.

Will it hurt my dog to swim in my pool with chlorine in it?

No as long as the chlorine isn't too strong and you rinse them off after, but it messes with the pH of the pool water etc, at least that's what my pool guy told me.

Not unless it's much too highly concentrated int he water or the dog drinks a ton of it.

it shouldnt hurt your dog but make sure you rinse the dog off after it gets out of the pool

No, but you might want to hose him/her off after he/she gets out.

NO IT WILL NOT. bUT IT MIGHT KILL ANY FLEAS. lol

            1298311267 96 Aquarius Tattoo Ideas

Aquarius is the 11th sign of the Zodiac, and it is best known as a water-bearer. The constellation sign is dictated by Saturn and Uranus. those who are born between 21st January and 19th February can consider getting this zodiacal symbol.

Aquarius tattoo can appear in many different forms, and the design can be very innovative, expressive, and bizarre. nevertheless, the symbol can be as simple as just a pouring water jug, or a droplet, or two zigzagging ‘W’ patterns (called the Aquarius glyph symbol) representing the waves. It can also be a more complex design including an urn and a carrier. The bearer can be a man, or woman, or someone who has a great impact on your life.

The popular design for male is often a muscular young man carrying a jug on his shoulder and spilling water. But, the female will usually opt for a girl in pin-up style bathing in a pool and scooping water onto her long hairs.

Since the zodiacal sign is always associated with the wave, jug and a person, you can make use of your imagination to create something unconventional. here are some possible design ideas:

            1. a mythical mermaid floating above or below the waves.
            2. a pin-up woman taking bath with water flowing down from a jug.
            3. a girl pouring water from a big urn to a small bucket.
            4. stylish calligraphy written in different languages—in Chinese, Japanese or Hebrew characters.
            5. a fairy standing in a pond on a starry night collecting stars from the water surface.
            6. a simple tribal style Aquarius –just a jug with water spilling out.
            7. a portrait of your loved one holding an urn and spilling water from his/her shoulder.
            8. an Aquarius sylph symbol intertwining with flowers such as the water lily and orchid.

The most common colors for this sun sign tattoo are turquoise and blue. If you prefer a tribal style design, black color will be most suitable, and it can fit in to almost any part of the body.

As there are many Aquarius design variations, and it often involves one’s talents and imagination to create a truly amazing artwork, you may want to consider finding your tattoo in a professional gallery. you will enjoy seeing myriads of designs and give thumb up to many of the remarkable works of arts.

1298268063 90 Dont like whats going on? Then pay attention

The Legislature is considering a pack of bills aimed at forcing the city of Phoenix to change the way it does business.

Let’s see: a $100 million shopping center subsidy, a 277 percent boost in the public’s cost to cover city pensions over the last decade, a doubling of water rates in 10 years and a City Council that sat back and allowed the top guy to spike his pension to the point where he now draws far more in retirement than former U.S. presidents.

Yeah, I’d say some change might be in order.

But I don’t think it should come from the Legislature. (Here’s where you put the down this column and go look in the mirror. You are now looking at where change comes from.)

Did I mention that Phoenix has an election this year and that Mayor Phil Gordon is term limited?

Conventional wisdom says his replacement will come from within the ranks of the City Council. The last time an outsider was elected mayor was 1983, when Terry Goddard rode into office on a wave of fresh air that also ushered in the council district system.

Since Goddard, every mayor has come from within council ranks and this year is shaping up to be more of the same. The early favorite is the Christopher Columbus of the City Council, Peggy Neely. She’s been exploring a run for mayor since may, collecting copious amounts of cash from developers and lawyers who do business with the city. She won’t admit she’s running because then she’d have to resign her seat and all the attendant perks. yet she spent more on her “exploratory” campaign last year than all the other candidates – combined.

Councilman Claude Mattox, who is in the last year of his term and so doesn’t need to resign, is also running, as is former nine-year Councilman Greg Stanton, who left in 2009.

Then there’s Wes Gullett, a guy who could be a formidable candidate if anybody paid attention. Sadly, statistics show that few voters do.

Gullett is no newcomer to politics. He’s a political consultant who was chief of staff to Gov. Fife Symington and deputy campaign manager for John McCain’s 2000 presidential run. his wife, Deb, was a chief of staff for both Gordon and McCain and served in the Legislature.

I asked him why he’s running when the odds are stacked against him. “in my house,” he said, “you don’t get to complain unless you stand up and deliver.”

Gullett has already had an impact on city hall. on Jan. 16, he wrote an op-ed piece, questioning why the city was about to raise water rates by 7 percent, given that they’ve already doubled in 10 years. three days later, the council postponed the vote, claiming to need more information.

Since then, the city has put out all manner of explanations, leading you to conclude you’ll be drinking sludge if you don’t hand over the cash.

“my favorite is (that) the cost of chemicals has gone up 493 percent — over 10 years, by the way,” Gullett said. “how come it hasn’t gone up at home? You’d notice if your pool chemicals went up 493 percent. And how about this? Maybe we should get a new vendor if the price has gone up that much. I mean, it’s ridiculous.”

Speaking of ridiculous, I am reminded of the $100 million CityNorth subsidy. Neely and Mattox were for it. Stanton opposed it. Gullet says he would have been a no, as well.

In fact, he says a lot of things that won’t endear him to the city hall set. one word in particular is likely to make the other mayoral candidates squirm: pensions.

It was on their watch that Jack Harris was allowed to double dip, retiring as police chief only to return as public-safety manager.

It was on their watch that former City Manager Frank Fairbanks was allowed to spike his pension, scooping up $1.3 million during his last three years in order to score the largest public pension in Arizona — $246,813 a year.

And it was on their watch that the taxpayers’ cost to fund city pensions rose 277 percent in 10 years. This year, the tab will hit $93.7 million. yet it wasn’t until reporter Craig Harris started poking around last fall that the city suddenly decided to act – by appointing a study committee. even then Gordon took up for the poor overworked, underpaid city employees, as if it was somehow an attack to question whether they should be able to cash in stunning amounts of unused leave to hit the jackpot at public expense.

Gullett says the pension spiking needs to stop.

The question is, why didn’t the folks in power stop it? Probably because of city hall syndrome, a common malady wherein our elected leaders forget who it is they are working for.

“It’s a strong manager and a strong staff and it’s built that way for a reason,” Gullett said. “But what the council’s job to do is to ask tough questions and push back and occasionally say no, so that everybody works together. Those systems just don’t work if the answer’s always yes.”

They also don’t work if nobody’s paying attention. Voter turnout in the last mayoral election was 18.69 percent.

                1298095232 55 Blown away: Blizzard

ZURICH — It sounds like something out of a science fiction movie.

The plot? a small town, of less than 1,000 people is surrounded by hundreds of giant 150-metre-tall wind turbines that will dwarf every structure in the area.

Add to that plans for a massive underground gas storage facility, that would store natural gas under pressure beneath a residential area, including a school — and really, what could go wrong?

Just no one light a match.

Local residents fear it’s a recipe for disaster.

They’re worried vibrations from the giant turbine 49-storey wind turbines could destabilize the underground gas storage “pool.”

Located close to Lake Huron, even in the dead of winter this small town is set in stunningly beautiful countryside.

“We will be completely surrounded by the turbines,” said local resident Heather Redick.

Turbines can be placed as close as 550 metres to her home, a figure she says the provincial government has plucked from the air.

Three giant projects totalling 260 turbines will affect the village. the planned turbines will have blades as wide as a Boeing 747 wingspan.

They point out that so close to a lake, ice will build up on the blades, which could fly off and hit people or livestock.

Residents feel their way of life is being sacrificed on the altar of green political correctness.

“why is our provincial government, through the Green Energy Act, exploiting rural Ontario with questionable benefits to global climate change?” asks Doug Oesch.

“why are they willing to sacrifice our quality of life?”

What’s more, each turbine consumes about four acres (1.6 hectares) so residents estimate between all the planned projects, about 1,000 acres (405 hectares) of prime farmland will be taken out of production.

Meanwhile, Tribute Resources in London has been offering homeowners in the area $500 for the mineral rights to their land.

That would allow them to pump natural gas underground at pressure for storage.

The unique geological formation of the rock — it’s old lake bed — provides an underground “pool” where natural gas once occurred naturally. That gas was depleted in the 1940s and the proposal now is to pump in gas from outside the area and store it — under three times the pressure of the naturally occurring gas.

Residents fear their water supply will be affected. they use well water and the project will drill through their acquifer in order to access the gas.

The “pool” is about three miles (4.8 km) in diameter and sits directly under the Catholic school. the project is the first of its kind in Huron County.

Redick says the village just doesn’t want it and they’re angry they’ve been forced to fight it.

“there is no financial benefit to the village.

“there is no tax benefit to the village.

“there won’t be any jobs created,” she said.

They’re angry that they may be forced to spend money on costly legal representation in order to fight the project at the Ontario Energy Board.

Tribute did not respond to requests for comment.

The government recently slapped a moratorium on off-shore wind turbines, saying there wasn’t enough science to say they’re safe.

What about onshore projects? Can we be sure these giant structures really won’t rob rural residents of their way of life?

This isn’t a horror flic. It’s not Children of the Corn. It’s a lovely part our province that deserves better.
